“US News & World Report” came out with its highly anticipated college rankings this week and while we discussed the national university rankings already, we thought we’d share with you information on the liberal arts college rankings. Topping the list again this year is Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Placing second again is Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. And, yes, Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania has placed third…again. The top three slots remain unchanged from last year.
But then some colleges start sliding and rising as compared to last year’s liberal arts college rankings. Placing fourth this year is Pomona College in Claremont, California while Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont slipped from 4th last year to 5th this year. Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts slipped from a tie for 4th last year to 6th this year, while Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine stayed level at 6th.
Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina slipped out of the top ten to 11th this year and Claremont McKenna in Claremont, California rose from 11th last year to 9th this year. So essentially, there’s not a significant change in the top ten liberal arts college rankings any way you slice it and there’s absolutely no change at the very top!
